Riviera Point and Saigon Centre Phase 2 achieves the BCA Green Mark Gold (Provisional) Award
Keppel Land continues to set green benchmarks with its quality portfolio in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Vietnam. Riviera Point, the tallest condominium development in District 7 and Saigon Centre Phase 2 were conferred the Green Mark Gold (Provisional) Award by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore on 20 July and 15 August 2012 respectively.
Installed with the latest eco-friendly technology, Riviera Point will save up to 50% in electricity and 30% in water consumption. Key green features include low-emissivity glazing panels for solar heat reduction, photovoltaic panels as a renewable energy source and extensive use of recycled contents during the course of construction. The 2,400-unit waterfront project will be developed in phases over several years, with Phase 1A to be completed in 2015.
At Saigon Centre Phase 2, bicycle parking lots are provided to encourage staff to reduce their reliance on motor vehicles while recycling bins are provided on every floor to encourage recycling habits. To spread sustainability awareness to tenants and shoppers, 'green areas' are used to showcase information on going green.
When completed in 2015, the development will yield 50,000 sm of retail and dining spaces, 40,000 sm of premium Grade A office space and over 200 units of luxury serviced apartments.
